COAT COLORS
What colors are possible?
Possible colors include
the following: black, black/white, blue roan, liver, liver/white,
liver roan, golden, red, red/white, red roan, orange/white, orange
roan, lemon/white, lemon roan, sable and sable/white. Tan marking
occur on most of these color combinations. Blue roan is generally
the most popular color.
What colors are acceptable?
Concerning color,
the English Cocker Spaniels standard states "Various." ECS fanciers
love the variety of colors found in their breed. It is preferred
that parti-colors be clearly marked, ticked or roaned. White feet
on a solid colored dog is undesirable, but a little white on the
throat is acceptable. Black & tans and liver & tans are considered
solid colors.
