Inc. produces an illustrated breed standard. The booklet provides an
excellent example of the breed as it should be judged in shows held by
the American Kennel Club. Illustrations accompany the text of the standard
throughout. Illustrations include head studies, bone structure and movement. The illustrated breed

The ECSCA, Inc. also considers the "total
English Cocker Spaniel" to be an integral part of the breed. The English
Cocker Spaniel excels in the field as a flushing spaniel and in other performance
events. When judging the breed consideration must be always given to their
ability to perform the function they were bred to do. English Cockers today
are seen in the show ring, field and performance events. To learn about
English Cockers in these events, the following judges who are familiar with
English Cockers can be helpful.

“Breaking The Ice”
The ECSCA Breed Education Committee will present a breeder education program at the ECSCA National on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.
We presented this program for the first time last year in Denver and we are bringing it back this year at popular request!!
Last year we had an excellent panel of breeders: Kay Belter, Kerri Brangers, Sandy LaFlamme, and Joyce Winkels.
This is your chance to ask well-established, successful breeders why they select a bitch from her littermates to show and breed from and what will they look for in a stud dog for this bitch. Is there a plan for the future generations?
